Avalanches

Causes of avalanches: They can happen because of too much snow, steep slopes, earthquakes and wind.

Effects of avalanches: They can destroy many things like roads, forests and buildings. They can kill animals and people too.

Areas Of The World Most Affected by avalanches: They can happen in all mountians with snow but they happen mostly in Peru, Argentina, USA, Italy, Canada, Afghanistan, Slovakia, Austria, France, Nepal and Iceland.

Current Consequences of avalanches: There was a deadly avalanche after the 2015 nepal earthquake which was at a 7.8 magnitude. At least 20 people lost their lives.

Future consequences if we don’t take action right away: If we don’t take action right away there will be more damage to property and more deaths because of avalanches.

Possible Solutions to lessen effects of this issue: You can build snow fences. If there aren’t any snow fences and you are caught in an avalanche, you should try to get of the slab but it isn’t easy. When the avalanche stops, it settles so moving is very hard.
